The Blue Door
This is part of the Timaru Milling Company building.
It was built circa 1882 by James Bruce, after the original wooden building (1878) burned down in 1881. It's a six storey brick building, with arched windows on each level.
It was the first flour mill in New Zealand to be fitted with a roller milling plant.
I've taken this photo before, about a year ago, and when I joined blip, I decided I would do it again, because I think it makes for an interesting composition.
It has been the coldest day here all year I think. It's been raining on and off all day, it's windy, cold, and thoroughly miserable.
A perfect day for staying inside and eating chocolate!
