We introduced hazelh & Mr hazelh to the original* version of a game they enjoy - now known as Catan we've had it since it was only available as Die Siedler Von Catan, and in the original German.

The artwork is radically different in modern version.  My understanding is that when the rights to the game were bought to produce an English language version, the rights to the artwork were omitted.  A pity, as the original is far better in my opinion.

Extras:

Earlier in the day we had the trains running for the family who are staying in the cottage.  It was the first run this season for the big steamer and there was much excitement from the children encouraging the 'baby' train to stay in front (on a circular track, we'll not get into the maths of that).

Not sure quite how the 'big' train felt when needing to be recovered by the 'baby' one when it ran out of steam on the far side of the circuit.
