A sunny Sunday
It has been a beautifully warm and sunny day. We had a lovely walk in the woods, its so good now that it is dry and we come back without having to wash mud off Xena.
This image of the bee on the heuchera in the garden was a backup image as I was planning on photographing something else - after lunch we hoped to drive to London as I wanted to photograph the flags lining the streets everywhere in readiness for the queen's jubilee celebrations in 2 weeks time. However before we set off we heard that there was an accident on the A3 and then it was closed, so the traffic became a bit of a nightmare and consequently we decided not to go. I may go later in the week.
We spent time booking our flights to go to South Africa in October to visit my family. We had a BA voucher from a Business Class ticket that we bought my sister to come visit us in August 2020 but of course with Covid and the pandemic she could not come. We had so many vouchers from all the cancelled trips that it was hard to keep track of them, and initially British Airways would not let us use this one as it had to be used from SA to London, then they changed their minds but we discovered today that this voucher had expired 3 weeks ago....thanks BA, that was a compete waste of money. Sadly only Gavin and I are going as the boys are too busy, although we had planned a family trip in July 2020 for the boys to also come and see the family especially their elderly granny as it has been years since they last saw everyone - but that trip had to be cancelled and granny died in June from Covid so that was not to be.
Gavin went off to have a Covid LFT this morning as he flies to the USA early tomorrow morning and the USA is one of the few countries that still require a Covid test for fully vaccinated travellers. This will be his first business trip in nearly three years.
