Fir cones in the making

I don’t think I’ve ever seen fir cones before when they’re developing. There was just one fully formed one. I spotted them at the garden centre. We’d gone there to get a plant for my lovely neighbour’s birthday. We were both tired today after the heady excitement of 2 lots of socialising yesterday.
