IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY

If you've been following along you'll know that it's the first major race of the season at Road America, America's National Park of Speed. The SVRA is in town with an impressive array of vintage race cars. Each one comes with its own box of Kleenex to wipe up the drool of many admirers. One wonderful thing about Road America is the open paddock. You can stand right next to the cars and even talk to the drivers and the pit crew. It's Motorhead Heaven!!!!

Friday it was rainy off and on; Saturday it was supposed to rain but it didn't. It was pleasant in the a.m. but in the p.m. the wind shifted from the east right off of a very cold Lake Michigan only a few miles away. It dropped 15° in 15 minutes and windy. It was cold.

We thought Saturday was cold. Today it was COLD...about 15 degrees above freezing with 40 knot winds pushing it around. BIG clouds but occasionally the sun poked through and it was a welcome, albeit brief, warm spell courtesy of nuclear fusion some 93 million miles away, plus or minus.

EXTRA #1......my friend and fellow motorhead shooter P welcoming a visit from RA, the Sun god.
~
EXTRA #2......we lost several trees on the track over winter. They were cut down but the cutter is also a chainsaw artist and he favored us with a few carvings. There's more but that will be for another day.
