'International Record Store Day'
Woke up feeling pretty good today and a little house bound after not having left home for the last few days.
After a nice breakfast of profitjes we headed out to a craft shop in Waranwood where Mrs R had a gift voucher to spend from her birthday last year. She found a book on Waldorf dolls and the materials to make one.
Then we drove into the city to my favourite record store Basement Discs for 'International Record Store Day' they were having performances all day from all sorts of local acts, unfortunately when we arrived it was right in between change over acts and they were having music trivia questions and giveaways.
Basement Discs is located in Block Place, one of my favourite little cafe laneways in Melbourne, you can see the shop entry on the right hand side in this shot, and the entire shop is underground below Haighs Chocolates, an Australian institute started in Adelaide early last century.
Had a quick bite to eat in the food court just up the road before heading back to our car parked in a 1 hour meter in Queen Street. Bad luck once again, because we were 4 minutes late back to the car and we'd already copped a parking fine. Bloody expensive hour out I can tell you.
Off for dinner tonight to meet my niece from Perth with her young baby Hamish for the first time. A big family get together where 5 generations will come together to eat. Should be fun.
