Running, hiding

You're 19, you've committed murder, a nation hates you, gunmen are out to get you, your brother has been shot... how does it feel?

In Boston, or in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Syria, in Palestine... how does it feel?

By chance during the course of the day I caught one of the brief snatches of conversation being collected by The Listening Project an oral history collaboration between The British Library and BBC radio, based on a similar American initiative called StoryCorps, inspired by the great oral historian Studs Terkel.
This one was between a mother and her 13 year old son, on why he wanted to join the army, and the moral questions it might pose.

I don't think the fact that not all solders are considered 'legitimate' makes much difference.
