It's A Sweet Peoney

Friday and this lovely peoney had fully opened.  It was one of many from Mrs IU's Peoney's that she had taken from her father's garden aftger he died many years ago, and had started to bloom in the last few days.  She has fond memories of them growing in her father;s garden and she asked me to photograph this one, as by the time we returned from holiday, it would have all but gone.  

I suggested that she cut it off, and put it in a small vase, cover it in a small sealable polythene bag and take it with us, which she did.  And it spent many days on the cottages kitchen table until the petals eventually started to fall.
