Trend

This shop front in Leatherhead says it all. The “trend” in the town is for businesses to sell up and shops to remain empty. Even in the small shopping mall, The Swan Centre, there are two new vacancies and the once lovely Next store site has been taken over by the council and houses pop-up shops.
There is endless discussion on social media about what can be done about Leatherhead, and the council has drawn up plans, but nothing seems to happen. The town looks so forlorn.

We are forlorn in our small road. Our neighbour of more than fifty years has died of Covid. Her widower Keith has family support, but we are all so sad to lose her.
