The Funfair comes to Town
I was walking to the swimming pool this morning and came across a fun fair in the local park.
The Pat Collins Funfair is synonymous with Walsall and Bloxwich in particular. Pat Collins was a councillor, alderman, mayor and M.P. For Walsall in the early 1900s while also running the funfair. He lived in Bloxwich up until his death in 1943.
The swim was enjoyable and I increased my total number of lengths as I had a lane to myself. I also rewarded myself with a Greggs bacon butty and coffee, though the cost of living has also hit here with the price having increased from £2.40 to £2.50 since last week. Still quite a bargain in this day and age.
