Beginnings

Even a small thing can be a ‘moment’. The first bottle of Brown Hare Brewing Company beer has been opened. A little early, needs another few days of carbonation, but didn’t stop me opening a second.

A simple ale, roughly 5.2%, Fuggles and Goldings for a little flavour and aroma, with not too much bittering (only about 30-35 IBU if memory serves), so a wee bit malty.

It was only really a test of the equipment, but I like how it has turned out. Next week I’ll try the Session Ale that’s a ‘little’ hoppier (but not ridiculous) but only 3.7%.

Next up this week an Orange Saison, and then harvest some nettles for a very small batch Nettle Ale (keen to do seasonal specials, so gonna try some really old traditional things and try to update it).
