Citizenship and jubilee tree
Today I officially became a British citizen. It was a long arduous process so I'm glad it's over. And I was especially glad to acquire citizenship during the jubilee, when new British citizens receive a sapling.
As soon as I knew I was getting a tree, I offered it to the allotment, the place where I feel my roots are, and the chair seemed grateful for the gesture.
It was agreed that the tree would be planted in the play area and I was getting excited. Only problem is it's a beech. That means eventual height 12 metres, eventual spread 8 metres...
Something tells me I need to have another chat with the allotment committee!
