Sovana - Pitigliano circuit

Today we walked a loop from our hotel to the ancient community of Pitigliano via the narrow and steep valleys of the hollow path network .

The blip shows one of our party on one of the paths hewn out by man in the soft volcanic rock and then hollowed out by the feet of donkeys to form this unique and vast network unique to this location.

Another very hot and tough walk c 12.53 miles according to Mrs UEs Fitbit!! Which doesn’t agree with walk notes but allows us to seem heroic.
