The Black Hmong
These two lovely ladies were amongst the hoard of ethnic minority women and girls that accompany tourists on their organised treks into the surrounding villages. These two woman decided I was their girl to target! All in good fun. When we reached Lao Chai village I haggled with them and ended up with two small bags. They were happy and left :-) Then I just had to worry about fighting the rest if them off!
It was another beautiful sunny day and the terraces ere some of the most grateful I've seen. Unfortunately rice season here runs from May to September so if I come back in another two months it will be fruitfully lush and green with rice crops. I may even climb Mt Fansipan! Which is Vietnam's highest peak'.
Tomorrow I'm not sure what to do. I wanted to do a mountain biking tour but it is very expensive for one person. So instead the hotel told me they could drop me at Heaven's Gate (Vietnam's highest mountain pass) and I can make my own way back. Apparently its easy and only one way downhill and I can't get lost .... mmm .... Should I do it??
