Isolated thunderstorms...
... or so said the forecast.
Today I drove across Surrey to have lunch with an old friend. After lunch we ventured out on a short walk in the countryside. It was a beautiful day with warm sunshine. But as we walked we could see storm clouds gathering in the distance and we could hear an occasional rumble of thunder.
Once back at her house we settled down with a cup of tea. That was when the sky grew quite dark and the heavens just opened. Lighting formed, thunder cracked and hail formed a thick carpet on her patio (see extra). Bizarrely steam started to rise from her pond (main blip). It was quite eerie.
Then as soon as it came it went and the skies turned blue once more. The weatherman was spot on. But we were very lucky not to have been caught out in it. As well as getting very wet and cold I think it would have been quite scary.
