Vine and Stone

Our first day on the Cammino San Benedetto. We cycled through the spectacular Umbrian countryside from one medieval borgo to another…Norcia, still recovering from the terrible terremotto of 2016 to Monteleone di Spoleto perched atop a mountain and very nearly a medieval ghost town. Just 25 miles and about 1000 feet elevation gain. Sun, heat, hay fever are the challenges! Today’s picture is an old ivy vine gracefully growing up a medieval building in Monteleone di Spoleto.
