Heading home

The cygnets hatched some time last week when we were on holiday and this is the first opportunity we have had to see them. There are four now, I haven’t been able to confirm yet if there were more last week when they hatched.
The path around the loch was blocked for a while this afternoon as the mother had brought the babies out of the water to feed on the grass at the side of the path and the father was at the other side on guard duty. A lady with her dog was waiting patiently as she realised it was not wise to try and cross their path but another dog walker got too near and the male went for her dog aggressively, thankfully all the dogs were on leads.
After waiting awhile, Mum escorted the babies back to the loch and Dad was able to relax a little bit.
