The Song of the Fuchsia Fairy
Very little sleep last night as the tinnitus seemed to take over. I try to swerve my brain on to other thoughts and finally started to think of my blip for today.
I remembered a book I had been given as a child by an old Auntie. It was the Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker. I was very young when I received this book but I spent hours looking at the pictures and reading the attached poems. It was difficult to find a favourite amongst the fairies as I loved so many of the flowers but I always seemed to return to the fuchsia which looked like a ballerina. I lost this book, probably thrown away with all my childhood books by my Mum, when we moved but years later my daughter bought me a similar book as I had told her how much I had enjoyed it.
As the fuchsias have started to flower in the garden I thought I would look at the book and remember my childhood memories.
