Shield Bug

Another garden blip, I found this rather handsome bug on the verbascum, and it patiently allowed me all the time I wanted to enjoy the macro - which is giving me such pleasure right now. I took a lot of photos! I’m choosing this one because it focuses on the eyes and the antennae ( if that’s what they’re called?). I’m still working on the dof (get me!) but I’m slowly getting to know the macro, and I’m happy to enjoy it as a work in progress.
Got a good game of tennis in before the rain came and I’ve planted out my hollyhocks and tomatillo - looking forward to enjoying those
