Life imitating art?

Came across this mural in Bologna today. I had just learned from the Big Red Bus tourist guide that Bologna used to have a series of waterways linking it to the Adriatic and so was an important port. Most of the five canals are now covered over. Bologna is a city over water!
Obviously this shows Bologna’s canals - but what struck me was the man on the left. I just couldn’t resist!
