Africa Day
Christine (the lady in the black t-shirt) informed us that today is "Africa Day". I'd never heard of it before. I've just done a quick Google search and found this: "25 May: On this day, in 1963, the Organization of African Unity – now known as the African Union – was established. As we commemorate this day, we reflect on the accomplishments of people across the African continent and on the challenges they still endure." To celebrate, she and two others from the continent sang a couple of songs. :))
It's been a crazy day. Firstly, G didn't have to go to school, so the morning was different. We'd already heard that Jeff & Margaret had a meeting, so weren't sure if they would be with us for supper. G decided to go ahead and make a lasagne. That way, if they came, we had something, and if they didn't, she could freeze it. They couldn't join us in the end, but it was because Margaret fell victim to an ATM scam doing the rounds here. She had to go to the Police to file a report.
We met them at church and had a very encouraging service. There wasn't time to get details of what happened. I had to leave promptly to attend an emergency Zoom meeting for the flat in Cyprus. Thankfully it went really well and was very productive. It went on over 90 minutes. Annoying as we brought Cath home with us. Her sister was arriving from the UK, and she wanted to pick her up at the airport. It didn't make sense to go all the way back to where she lived (not far from the EXPO site), so she had a cup of coffee with us. Well, with G!
We dropped her off at Terminal 1 and heard later that she'd met up with her sister.
