Mormon Temple

Crowds of people have been taking tours of the Mormon Temple which is normally closed to the public, but between its recent renovation and its upcoming dedication, it has been open for tours.  It is a well-known landmark to anyone who travels the beltway through Montgomery County. No pictures were allowed inside, so this was taken from the gardens. 

It was first built in 1974, and my mother took a tour at that time, once again before it was dedicated.  I believe this is the first time since then that it has been open to the public.  There is no large sanctuary inside, just a lot of meeting rooms for various types of ceremonies and functions, some unique to the religion.
