Long Day
Trebah Military Day, organised by the Parachute Regimental Association, is always a great day and this year I was lucky to be accompanied by my son Joshua for the day.
The sun shone, the pipe band sweated in the heat but played well.
Royal Naval helicopter, Royal Marine assault craft, the inshore lifeboat, veteran association standards fluttering, military vehicles and a moving service with wreath laying made for a moving day.
Coffee in the morning, pasty for lunch and a cream tea, jam first, made sure we lasted through.
We headed towards home but decided to have a father-son beer at the Athenaeum Club instead. Watching Saracens over a beer, chatting about life in general a great way to finish the day before Mrs S picked us up at 8:00pm to go home.
