bonding
If you want to bond with someone, tell them you're going to Iceland. Try it. Chances are they've been to Iceland and are eager to tell you how much they loved Blue Lagoon and the restaurant there and then to give you tips. If they haven't been, they are excited for you because they want to go to Iceland. I don't even know how many people are psyched for me.
If someone wants to bond with you, they'll see your garden and then show you dozens of pictures of their garden, including their very neat trees and all of their birdhouses. If someone else wants to bond with you, they'll see your lenses and then tell you they just bought their first camera and they hope they pick the right lenses.
The handymen came! Hooray!
I finished watching the movie Contagion yesterday. What amazing writers. I'm so glad I didn't watch it at the beginning of the pandemic.
There are some animals calling loudly to each other outside. I think they are Compsognathus longipes, chicken-sized dinosaurs introduced in Jurassic Park II. Or frogs.
Russian tanks were considered to be some of the best in the world. Now Russia is bringing Cold War-era tanks out of mothballs, T-62 tanks, first used in 1961. I guess that is what you have to do when all your newer tanks have been blown up by Javelins, drones, etc, and stupidity, like Russians trying to cross rivers. At the Siverskyi Donets river Russia lost around 70 tanks. Well-concealed Ukrainians have been picking Russian tanks off at distances of two miles or more. And then there are the ones that Russians themselves destroyed so they wouldn't have to keep going. Thanks to sanctions it is hard for Russia to make new tanks.
What about the Russian navy? They are trying to figure out how to send civilian ships to war. I guess their navy hasn't done so well either.
Russian airplanes are starting to cannibalize parts of their fleets because they can't get parts. About 80% of Russia's commercial fleet is foreign-made planes.
Now, here is where it really gets brutal. The US exports 7 million liters of whisky, rum, gin, and bourbon to Russia each year. Guess it is vodka all the time now.
