Déception

Empty chairs at empty tables.

So I arrived in school, bright and early to teach my final quatrième class to find...no students. Now I could have had a lie-in, but instead I hauled myself out of bed for nothing. A bit disappointing to be honest, but oh well c'est la vie!

My day soon picked up though as I met Mathieu for a long coffee afternoon! Today my brain decided that every gender I ever knew in French would be switched, and I would get it wrong every time...much to Mathieu's amusement. I think my worst one would have to be calling a man la homme and a woman le femme...I mean, there is a tiny bit of a clue in the name I would say! At least it made him laugh. We also had a lovely conversation with one of the staff in Café Latin who complimented me on how well I could speak, especially when compared to the Americans (sorry Kendra!). He then proceeded to tell us all about his plans for the place and what was going to happen, sounds quite exciting! Lovely weather today, although I will admit, Normandy weather has a tendency to keep you on your toes...today, sunny and then started spitting slightly. Nothing like the adrenaline rush to get everything inside to then see it is sunny again! Anyhows, a lovely afternoon well spent.

This was not my only visit to Café Latin today, later in the evening I met the girls and Pawel for a drink there before heading to Bar'O for the Nordik Party after Thibaud sent me a distress text. Now I will be completely honest, there were not that many people there at all. No idea why, maybe because it is the beginning of holidays or something, but it was pretty much a few French people then us English representing! I felt really bad for Thomas and Thibaud, as they had organised the whole thing. Saying that though, it was actually a welcome change, and nice to have such an intimate gathering of people. After a quick wander back to the flat we headed to Au Dépot and stayed there until quite late before heading back to the flat to eat pasta before heading to bed. Why is it that pasta always tastes awesome when you're a little bit tipsy?
