Isolation?

I see this horse every time I walk around Park Farm fields and he's always own his own. I always make a point of stopping and saying hello. He seems content, but hey, how do I know what he's feeling?

I know that horses are happiest when they have company. Without it, they will naturally become bored, lonely and depressed. Whenever I see an animal being kept on their own, I wonder how this animal is feeling. I doubt whether it would be their choice to be on their own.

Isolation is one of the 'existential givens'. Irvin Yalom writes extensively about existentialism.
