Feeling Patriotic

Our visitors left for home this morning, then after lunch we travelled down to York for 2 nights away to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As we don't have much booked this year we thought we would visit York as tourists rather than shoppers.

The hotel is on the edge of York just inside the city walls so just a short walk into the centre. We had our evening meal at the Guy Fawkes Inn and it was excellent. The inn includes the house where Guy Fawkes was born and he went to the nearby Bootham school. I later learnt that the school never burns his effigy on 5th November.
