Beach hutters

A fine late afternoon in Whitstable with Barbara and David who have travelled down from Edinburgh for a few days to visit Doreen.

They all went to see Doreen this morning while I went to another Marmite Ukulele band rehearsal for our upcoming gig in June.

After lunch we travelled to Whitstable to enjoy our usual walk from Seasalter to Tankerton via Whitstable and it’s harbour. We were mightily surprised to find that part of a line of warehouses had been destroyed in a serious fire yesterday. Fire crews were still onsite this evening and demolition and site clearance were on site beginning to take away the wreckage.

We punctuated our walk with tea and scones at the Continental Hotel and on the way back at the Old Neptune for a pint in the evening sunshine on the seashore. It was a rather late supper when we got home.

Today’s blip is of a couple sitting at their beach hut enjoying the setting sun and a beverage or two. Beach huts along this stretch, which are not even on the seashore are going for between £34-39,000. One on Tankerton slopes was for sale at £60,000.

Glad you liked the engine blips yesterday. It was an excellent day on the KESR. Hopefully more to come next week.
