St Benedict, Ampleforth Abbey

Today was lovely. We took some visiting friends to Ampleforth Abbey, not far from here. It's an amazing place: a prestigious boarding school in vast grounds and a working abbey - where the monks make CIDER! The tea shop serves fantastic food too. Add in sunny weather and a couple of cheeky doggies to walk and it was just about a perfect day out.

This chap is St Benedict and he sits in front of the abbey. Dude looks good large.
