Cuddles from Jack...
Today has been such a lovely day :-))
Our friends Dave, Kirsty and their baby boy Jack came for lunch. What a sweet little chunk he is :-)) And they brought Hamish their Tibetan Terrier so Lola had a playmate!
Little Jack will be four months old next week and suffers from colic. One minute I was getting big smiles then his knees came up, his little face crumbled and real tears ran down his wee cheeks. Thankfully his mum and dad know just how to help him and he was soon settled again.
We chatted over lunch about how poor Kirsty was given so much conflicting advice when she was pregnant about whether she should get the covid vaccination or not. At one antenatal appointment she was told she definitely shouldn't have the vaccination and at her next appointment she was berated for not having had it! I also got a cuddle from Jack. He is so tiny but absolutely solid! I think Kirsty must be producing Gold Top!
It was so lovely to be cuddling a little bubba that size. It only feels like a couple of years since Alan was at that stage.
After lunch, the weather was lovely so we sat in the garden and tried to ignore the scaffolding. Lola and Hamish played together really well although it did take a little while for Lola to fully relax with him, which is unusual for her. We put it down to the fact that he has a very alarming bark, which sounds as though he's being attacked when in fact he's just barking.
The first time he barked I thought Lola had gone for his jugular but she was actually sitting beside me waiting for a slice of carrot! lol Once we got used to his bark, David and I relaxed, as did Lola.
Thankfully by the time we went in the garden Tommy and his guys had gone, but not before he'd sent David his daily photographic update, showing more rotting parking, which they have replaced today.
Once David and Kirsty and wee Jack had gone, I checked the planters in the back garden and I am delighted they are all about to flower. We definitely made the right decision last year to plant perennials instead of annuals.
A lazy evening with some crocheting and finally watching the first episode of the Derry Girls. It's been a nightmare avoiding spoilers!
