Dent
After leaving Tebay Hotel, we stopped in Dent which has always been a favourite. Lots of campers but the cobbled streets were quiet as we wandered around . Dent was home to Adam Sedgwick one of the early geologists who identified Cambrian and Precambrian rocks . The huge rock in the centre of the village marks his birth there.
The meadows in the Dales were glorious with yellow buttercups showing brightly in the sunshine . It was lovely to have some bright sunshine after quite a few cloudy, dull days.
Our lunch stop was the tea room in the old school at Hebden near Grassington . A fabulous place for a varied and imaginative salad. Then it was full speed for home down the M1, M42 and finally M5,
Thankfully, we missed all the earlier queues for the Half Term holidays. Very glad to get home at 10:0 pm and be greeted by our little ( or actually not so little ) cat .
Home sweet Home ! :)
