WOW!!!
No way my picture was worth that many hearts.
You put me on page 1 with Hettykat's incredible duckling!!!
You must love me.

Thank you.

This is my entry for today's Silly Saturday. I have no idea why this sign is on the side of the church on the corner, but, of course, given my recent experience, I interpret it as being intended for a creature at that height. If only I had thought of using that approach!

I'm not totally over the experience, but I no longer interpret every house creaking sound, every Samuel rustle sound, etc as a mouse.

Today was supposed to be rainy and stormy but the entire day was glorious. I gardened and got birdseed and sat on the deck and had a wonderful day outside. I spread gravel. I spread mulch. I dumped the water in the birdbath and refilled it. I sat on my deck and put my feet on my new storage bench and delighted in how neat it looked with everything placed inside the storage bench.

"A Russian military court ruled behind closed doors this week that 115 National Guard service members were rightfully terminated for refusing to participate in the invasion." This means that 115 National Guard service members, in what has been called "Putin's private army," refused to participate in the invasion.

A Russian fighter jet was shot down by the Ukrainian air force in a dog fight yesterday. "The Russian Air Force still shows no sign of running a campaign to gain air superiority," retired British Air Marshal Edward Stringer said. In fact, their mistakes demonstrate mismanagement.

The US is preparing to send advanced long-range rocket systems to Ukraine. The weapon is capable of firing rockets many miles farther than current Ukrainian capabilities.

Liana Rohozhyna rescued her 19-year-old son with Downs Syndrome. In Mariupol he couldn't handle the sirens, raised voices, and explosions, He couldn't handle being in the shelter underground. She took him through minefields and air raids by telling him they were tracking down his hero, US pro wrestler John Cena. She got him all the way to Amsterdam.

Hundreds of Lithuanians got together to buy an advanced military drone for Ukraine. They raised five million euros in 3.5 days, in small amounts, to buy a Byraktar TB2 military drone. The campaign was begun by Laisves TV, the Lithuanian internet broadcaster. People are a little surprised to find themselves donating to buy guns. It is the first time in history that ordinary people raised money to buy something like this.

The Kremlin has denied that Putin has cancer. They've said nothing about whether or not he has Parkinson's.
