No brain, no pain
Finally got to the pain exhibition at the Science Museum today. Well exhibition might be stretching it a bit. A tiny exhibit tucked away right in the back corner of the Wellcome Wing would be more accurate but more than enough to keep this pain geek happy for as long as I wanted to stay inside on a sunny day. And it almost counts as studying, right?!
I'm not sure why I can't channel my geekiness into actually completing my assignment. Partly procrastination, partly time passing, partly they haven't actually given me a date so the motivation/adrenaline/sheer panic hasn't hit yet.
(Back after an emergency cleaning break mid-write up. K's sister is on a girlie weekend in town and at a restaurant around the corner. Of course, our house is always tidy and ready for an impromptu drop in for a night cap. Not.)
The rest of the day was just luxuriating in the sun in South West London, livened up by a small, peaceful but noisy demonstration outside what I think was the Venezuelan Embassy. It almost knocked the pain exhibit off blip but the photos were pretty rubbish to be honest. If I'm going to photograph events like that I need to have (a) a better camera, or even a camera and not just my phone and (b) the guts to get in a bit closer and take my time to compose a shot rather than trying to sneak a quick picture without anyone noticing. And the second blip lesson was that museums make for fantastic blip opportunities. I think the Science Musuem could keep me going for a year.
I do miss living in London sometimes. So many great things on your doorstep.
