First Roses

Some of the wild type roses we bought and planted last year. These are Persian, I think. We are mulching them all with tree bark and coffee grounds.

Rainfall has been abundant today as have been cuckoos. There seem to be at least three very close by. Maybe 5 even. Their calls are all slightly differently pitched. D tells me she actually saw two.

Other than cooking dinner, I have been rather lazy today. I made a sort of ragout with frozen courgettes and steamed some smoked halibut together with the rice.
