No Smoke without Fire!

There was an enormous Steam Rally close to where we stayed last night so today we dropped in. More old tractors, lorries, buses, bikes and motor bikes plus traction engines than you'd care to imagine.  The most interesting part was watching a demo of ploughing with a traction engine each end of the field pulling a plough from one to the other across the field!

My attention span waned after a couple of hours and I retreated to the motorhome; John stayed enthused for a while longer. 

We then visited one of 'my ruins' - Bolingbroke Castle. Really good and clear information sign from English Heritage. Extra is a view out of the castle kitchen - it used to have a roof!

Now on a site with rather a lot of wildlife around - geese, peacocks, ducks - so it could be a noisy night!
