Uffington White Horse
The Uffington White Horse is described in Wikipedia as "a prehistoric hill figure, 110 m (360 ft) long, formed from deep trenches filled with crushed white chalk. The figure is situated on the upper slopes of White Horse Hill in the English civil parish of Uffington (in the cerermonial county of Oxfordshire and historic county of Berkshire)".
The chalk trenches in my blip are parts of the figure. This is taken from the closest approach permitted to the horse: the National Trust, who look after it, understandably prevent visitors from walking on it to prevent damage. However, the only place from which the figure can be clearly seen is the air above it. Even if I had a drone I could not use it, because the National Trust prohibit the use of drones above their properties.
This view shows the flat Oxfordshire countryside spreading out to the north of the hill.
I am staying near here in preparation for an event tomorrow.
