Borders

Lots of the allotment holders have terrific floral borders to attract the bees, some even have almost all flowers and just a few veggies for show. It all makes the place buzzing and today I was working away to the music of bumblebees: big black ones, wee black ones, wee red ones. Nice!
Came across a lot of snails which is good timing as the early strawberries are just starting to ripen. What with them and the pigeons it’s going to be constant attack from above and below.
The cucumbers and courgettes are planted out now and Jo’s put in second sowings of her beloved peas and beans so that’s all the growing space pretty much taken up for now. Just need some better growing weather.
