Abritus Roman Ruins - Razgrad

We are now staying in Razgrad and this morning we went to see the Roman ruins of Abritus which were only discovered in 1952!  Set along the outskirts of Razgrad, Abritus was an imposing first century AD Roman walled city. It’s now home to an open-air archaeological reserve exhibiting about 70 monuments, including many tombstones and an altar devoted to Hercules.
