A day spent writing copy for the EIFF programme. A day spent distracting myself from the task in hand and eventually making a start at 7pm.

I hate writing about films, it stresses me out like nothing else. Give me a Q&A to host in front of 300 people and I'm fine, but writing makes me so anxious I can hardly do it at all. I suppose it's down to a lack of confidence, being afraid that what I have to say will sound stupid or entirely miss the point of a film. It's the most wonderful, relief-inducing experience when a filmmaker says they like what you wrote about their work. (Actually, now I come to think of it, that has happened fairly often over the years, so I can't be that bad!) (Either that or they're just being nice.)
