Le Pratarelle, un paradiso di orchidae….NOT

We had a second day in Orvinio so we cycled above town to a meadow with a view that was nicknamed a ‘Paradise of Orchids”…because of the many orchids that grow there. We saw one type of orchid on the roadside on the ride up, and two other types in the forest surrounding Le Pratarelle, but zilch in the meadow itself…..there we found only the same weeds florish back home. But it was lovely for a photo…. the puffy white clouds balanced by the white limestone of the fountain and troughs..with the strip of green in the middle. This doubles as the “Where’s Mikey Today” photo. The orchid pictures won’t win any contests, but I’ll include one of them in the extras.
