Memorial Day
Over the years, the Memorial Day Weekend has become known for family gatherings, barbecues and the unofficial beginning of summer. But the real meaning of Memorial Day is to honor and remember those who have died in military service defending our country and democracy. It was originally established during the Civil War and now remembers the over 1 million American men and women who’ve died in military conflicts.
I, like many people, sometimes forget the true meaning of this day. But today I am going to take a little time and think about those who gave everything.
And I will also enjoy the antics of a certain brindle dog, eat some dark chocolate, and cuddle the cats. And give my Hubs an extra cuddle!
Todays image is a photo of a small American Flag that is in our kitchen, shamelessly fiddled with.
