Work circus

It was the Regent's Staff Conference today and is was great. There was a huge marquee in the grounds and each department has a stall alongside fantastic catering. During the morning we heard talks about the 2020 strategy, saw the new University branding and had workshop sessions. Then in the afternoon it was Directorate question time and the staff awards. I was very pleased that a number of my team were nominated and collected prizes. After the awards was a session called Challenge 100. There were hundreds of staff at the event and we were broken into groups of ten. We were then given a book containing a hundred different challenges each worth a different amount of 'fun' money. Everyone really got into it and there was everything from line dancing, making stuff from playdough, building things, puzzles and lots more. Pam and I really enjoyed building a 6ft giraffe using only newspaper and sellotape. Our team came third overall and were given medals. It was then a free bar from the rest of the evening and I was a little tipsy when I left but it had been a great day.
