Holehird

I had a lovely day out with Jenny, we went to Holehird garden. They hold the National Collection of Meconopsis and by good luck they were in flower. The gardener was there attending them and we had a very useful discussion on how best to grow them. I have always loved the blue poppies, and on occasion have tried to grow them with variable success. I did have a few years when they were self seeding in the ground but they faded away. The gardener recommended having several growing in a good clump where they seem to be happiest. She said that seeds may be available so l left my email! I will try and raise some seedlings and maybe I will have a border full one day!
