The Flying Scotsman Rally In The Cumbrian Hills

Spent the afternoon with the our car club, who were marshalling on the Flying Scotsman Rally.

All the vehicles in the event are pre-war, with the oldest being 1912! The Talbot 105 Alpine above, was built in 1934. It's the last time I'm going to complain about my 11yr old car.

They're heading to Auchterader in Scotland tomorrow, after starting out in Hertfordshire yesterday.

It's not all plain sailing though, they have to do various navigational tests along the way.

This test near Shap in Cumbria, was quite a long one, that wound it's way along narrow lanes, through a farm yard and then had a slalom style finish with cones!
