Inside the Hungry Caterpillar

This afternoon we went to the nearby Eric Carle Museum with Raphael and his family. Here are my grandsons, Max and Nate, together as they were at Christmas--this time at least with a hard-copy book.

The museum provides this lovely refuge for reading (shelves at each end have many children's books), in the form of a large Very Hungry Caterpillar--subject of the best-known children's book by Eric Carle--according to the Wiki page it has been translated into over 50 languages. Eric Carle himself founded and funded the museum--it's a wonderful destination less than 20 minutes from our house. It's just within the campus of Hampshire College, in Amherst Mass.
