Chipmunk

The journey from Cortez east towards the Colorado Rockies took us through Durango, an attractive old railroad town and to Pagosa Springs, where we stayed the night. It's a spa town and along the river there are numerous steaming yellow sulphur-smelling hot springs draining into the river. The chipmunks seemed to like to scurry among the yellow-stained sulphurous rocks - perhaps they appreciated the warmth. It was quite cold and windy.
