Piggy Park polytunnel. Food Growing Project.
The Feast Day of The Visitation of The Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth Her cousin. This is the
The Second Mystery of the Holy Rosary.
The Feast Day of Saint Petronilla
The morning and afternoon weather were two different patterns here.
The morning was overcast. It is 4pm now and a beautiful sunny afternoon with a gentle breeze.15c.
I went out to find a blip, via a visit to the Co op. It is a joy to shop there.
I put some beans and jam in the food bank and bought a Fairtrade Vegan dark chocolate orange bar. It will last a good while, if I can control myself, as the sugar and fat is high, in it.
After that, I strolled home via the Piggy Park Food growing Project.
Jeff was working on his rectangular food growing bed and explained what all the edible plants were growing in tidy rows. They included beans, peas, swede, beetroot and carrot seedlings, all growing at their own pace.
Then he gave me an interesting tour to see the various fruits, including apple trees, brambles, rhubarb, strawberries and raspberries. There is also a herb growing area. Then a look inside this polytunnel, where there is a successful grape vine growing up a structured framework. Strawberry plants were already very fruitful, growing at ground level.
I was blessed to receive a few stalks of rhubarb to make an apple and rhubarb crumble.
Then I walked home and was grateful the low grey clouds did not rain. It is pleasantly mild and
sunny. I am now about to read my Kindle Canal Cafe story, the second book in a series of four books.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy Tuesday. May has nearly flown.
