Hitching a ride

I went back to Blackford Pond to check on the cygnets after my nature walk, and found them on the water with their parents, feeding and swimming about. One of the cygnets had the right idea about how to travel! However, as the mum swan climbed onto the nest, it slid off her back. They then all proceeded to have a long preening session.
