Unexpected Delight

We have the grandchildren (and parents) staying with us. It’s lovely. I decided that mowing the lawn (it is huge - over 2 acres) was needed. When I went to the outhouse to get the ride-on mower. Chaos!  A little bird was fluttering around, chirping and upset that I had entered. (We have been back to the UK to babysit the grandchildren, so we had been away from the outhouse for around two weeks). So, I looked around. The nest was between the main beam and roof. Then I realised that it was the nightingale that was still in the room, upset with me. She darted, chirped, clucked, clicked, and then left the building via a hole in the wall. (Note to self, fix hole later). Found the nest (see pic - chicks top right corner as balls of fluff). Took a (bad) pic, removed the mower (by hand, silently), then locked the door. Checked outside to see the male and female hanging around (they did go back in….. phew!).
So happy with have a nightingale nest. Onwards and upwards.
