Muddy buddies

After weeks of planning, we finally decided to go to the tulip festival that is local (vs the US). It started to drizzle a bit after we got there, and the tracks were already very wet and muddy. It was hard for us to push the stroller through. The tulips were alright compared to what we saw in Skagit Valley, and it was cold and miserable, but the kids had a lot of fun - not because of the tulips of course!

See, OO's lil' boyfriend C fell into the muddy tracks by accident as soon as we got in. Since he was already covered in mud, they started to slide in mud and hop in the muddy water puddles. Before long OO fell too, the 2 giggling while they slipped and slid in mud together. At the beginning the parents tried to reel them back in, but after a couple of rounds of trying to wade in mud and grab the ever-elusive kids, we gave up and let them play in the dirt. We've even attracted a modest audience as the mud-covered C completely lost himself in mud-jumping...

It was quite the workout washing everything, including the kids themselves. But we were all glad the kids had a good time.

Perhaps next time we can skip the 3hr drive altogether, and just let them roll around in our backyard after it rained.
